Sign-up agreement

UnitWise is anonymous. We store the username you choose, a hashed password, your drink log and settings, and (optionally) a private email for password reset only. We do not collect your name, location or any advertising data, and we never sell your data.

By creating an account you agree to the points below. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

1. Anonymous account. You choose a username, it should not be your real name. You may add an email for password recovery, but you do not have to.
2. Explicit consent to process health data. Information about your drinking is “special category” (health) data under GDPR. You give your explicit consent for UnitWise to store and process it solely to run the tracker for you. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your data or account.
3. Not medical advice. UnitWise and its screening tools (such as AUDIT-C) are informational guides, not a diagnosis or treatment. If you are worried about your health, speak to a GP. In a crisis call 999, or Samaritans on 116 123.
4. You must be 18 or over.
5. Your data is yours. Export it or delete it permanently at any time.
6. Sharing is your choice. Your records are private unless you explicitly share them with a sponsor, or connect with someone via a mutual buddy request or buddy code.
7. Fair use. Do not misuse the service, the API, or other people’s data.

Organisations can buy sponsor seats; sponsors can buy user seats to cover the people they support; individuals can subscribe themselves. You can always use the free tier.
